Is it better to have a solid or perforated peel?

Perforated pizza peels make launching pizzas easier and cleaner by reducing surface contact so the dough doesn’t stick.

The small holes let excess flour fall away, preventing burnt spots, while helping the pizza slide smoothly into the oven.

Is a pizza peel worth buying?

We would recommend that you launch your pizza using a pizza peel. It's the easiest way to prevent dough from sticking and tearing and ensures your pizza lands nicely in your outdoor pizza oven.

What are the holes for?

The holes are to allow any excess flour to fall before being placed in the oven.

How do you keep the pizza from sticking to metal peels?

The peel has a non stick coating but still requires the dough to have a base of fresh flour or semolina to prevent sticking.

Is a turning peel worth buying?

Our outdoor pizza ovens feature a rotating stone which automatically turns your pizza while it cooks. As a result, you will not need a turning peel with a Turpone outdoor pizza oven.
